Excessive malnutrition and physical overdraft made Gan Yu have a chaotic illusion of time. He said that he once thought he had been in the wild for more than 30 days. But a strong desire to survive supported Gan Yu, and even in the most difficult times, he never thought about giving up.
Gan Yu:Sometimes I drink my own urine and moss water. I’m too tired. I want to rest. It’s too late and my mouth is dry and there is no water to drink. I really have no choice. If I want to survive, I have to drink my own urine. The hardest time was when no one answered me when I called for help, and I just shouted there. (Giving up) No, I just really want to survive.

The man who looks very anxious is called Qin Bing, a large fruit grower in Nantuo Town, Fuling District, Chongqing. He planted two kinds of fruits: pitaya and yellow peach. Recalling the drought this summer, Qin Bing said that although he found a relatively reliable drought-resistant water source on August 21, the drought lasted for almost a month after that.
